PairTogether is built for a simple movie night — not for building a marketing profile of you. This policy explains what we store and what stays on your device.
What stays in your browser
- Favorites and session inputs during your visit
- Watch history and "already watched" marks (local storage)
- Shortlist and previously shown picks for the session
You can clear watch history in the app or by clearing site data in your browser. We do not sync this to an account in V1.
What we send to our servers
- Recommendations: favorite titles and moods you enter are sent to our API so we can look up titles and generate picks. We use third-party catalog providers (TMDB, OMDb, Trakt) for metadata.
- Why copy: when configured, an AI provider may generate explanation text from overlap data — not to train on your identity.
- Feedback: if you submit the feedback form, responses are stored in our database (Supabase). Email is optional.
- Thumbs on Why: up/down votes on a pick may be stored to improve explanations.
What we do not do in V1
- No accounts or passwords
- No selling your data to advertisers
- No tracking pixels for retargeting (beyond normal hosting logs)
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted on Vercel. Standard server logs (IP, user agent, timing) may be retained by the host for security and reliability.
Children
PairTogether is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
